Request based on Experience: Civilian and/or Military:

 

If you do not have your 8610-2 but meet the experience requirements, then there are a few steps necessary to help assist you in obtaining the 8610-2.

In the email please include your MOS, your time in once you have reached your first duty station,( your time training at your tech school does not count towards your experience)

Please include in the email your First and Last name, your phone number so that I may contact you should I need to reach out, and what base you are currently stationed at.

 

AIR FORCE COOL PROGRAM Also Referred to as the : Complete A&P Course 

 

 For enrollment you must meet the following requirements:

 

You must have 18 months of practical experience with either power plants or airframes, or 30 months of practical experience working on both at the same time. As an alternative to this experience requirement, you can graduate from an FAA-Approved Aviation Maintenance Technician School.

Allow 14 -30 business days for students to complete the program. The typical length of the course can vary depending on the number of testing attempts ie: failed tests. If a written exam is failed, the result will be a longer period of time necessary to complete the course. The Full A&P course should take no longer than 30 days MAX.

 

Please Note: If a student fails an exam they are required to pay for the next exam in that subject. 

 

Air Force COOL Education Program:

A&P Course Tuition for General, Airframe & Powerplant : $1,200

 

Oral & Practical Examiner's Fee. $1,200

 

Practical Prep with the DME: $400.00

 

3 Written Exams $525

Total: $3,325.00

 

New classes start each Monday. Doors open at 8:30AM.

    What to Expect:

8610-2 will need to be filled out and returned with a valid photo ID.

 

FAA will request that you provide a copy of your V-Met and a letter of Experience or Letter of Recommendation.  (Templates will be provided if needed for assistance). 

 

Once the 8610-2 is signed by the FAA I will prepare a proposed invoice so that you may submit it to AFC.

 

AFC requests a start date of within 30 days.
